To help get more consistent, higher quality sleep, try to avoid these common traps.
1. Avoid napping too late in the day. Naps are great, but don’t nap after 3pm because it will likely hinder the next night’s sleep.
2. Avoid exposure to blue light from phone, tv and computer screens in the hour before you intend to sleep.
3. Avoid staying in bed if you really can’t sleep. If you find yourself still in bed for more than 20 minutes, struggling to fall asleep, get up and do something else until you feel sleepy.
It helps train your brain to associate bed with sleep. Staying clear of these three things is a great start to building quality sleep habits.
