When it comes to quality sleep, there are a handful of things that often disrupt your ability to achieve consistent, high quality sleep. By impairing sleep, these things can undermine performance, energy and health.
Here are 3 things you can avoid in order to improve sleep.
#1 avoid caffein late in the day. Colas, coffee, some teas and chocolate contain caffeine, which is a stimulant. Even consuming these in the afternoon can have an affect on your sleep. Avoiding caffein in the afternoons and evenings can improve sleep.
#2 avoid alcohol. Even if you feel that alcohol helps you get to sleep, it can reduce your REM sleep, keeping you in lighter, less restorative sleep.
#3 avoid large meals before sleep. Large meals can cause digestive issues, which interferes with sleep.
